Stuff I've been Up to

Okay, so I know it seems like nothing has been happening around here lately, but that's not true! The truth is I haven't had my laptop and it has all my pictures on it! For some reason I don't feel like I can blog without pictures! It's just not as interesting!
And now, I have pictures on my camera, but I can't get the pictures onto my desktop because it doesn't have a card reader and my little usb drive converter thingy (like the woradge?) isn't working.
So here's what I have that I would love to tell you all about when I get my comp and think to do it!
1. Christmas - DUH as if I haven't blogged that yet!
2. My mom's birthday - did a whole thing for her, and the cake was SUPER cute!
3. Michael and I went to Edmonton - it was about time to have a getaway, and since our 10th anniversary is right around the corner, we figured we should!
4. My brother's birthday - yep, we're into birthday season around here! We had a great party for my brother, full of ideas from pinterest and blogs!
5. Mom's birthday present - oh yeah! I've been working on this one for a while, and it turned out SO CUTE! can't wait to show you!

And I have so much more that I'm getting excited to do! Like I said, we are in birthday season, and I have some great ideas from blogs and pinterest that we will be putting into action. Plus, I have some great craft projects for the holidays. Can't wait! Hope you all haven't given up on me!

It's about time I finally got you another meal-in-a-jar. This is a recipe I got from my cousin while we were visiting her for a family reunion. Between the two of us, we have six kids and all six of them ate this and asked for more! That's a huge hit in my book, so I definitely needed the recipe. I made 6 jars so that I have lots for my pantry because I know my kids are going to want to eat this over and over. The one adjustment I made was not adding green chilies, and that's only because I didn't have any, not because I don't want them. Beef Stew Meal-In-A-Jar

My meal in a jar recipe for February is a traditional beef stew, like my mom always made when we were growing up. There are a few adjustments that you can make depending on how you are going to eat prepare and eat this meal, but however you do it, it's going to be classic and delicious!   We are currently in a nasty cold streak with daily highs around -20 Celsius and wind chills that often take our lows to -40 Celsius. In the midst of this cold snap, we had a hockey tournament. Just when you want to curl up with a good book all weekend, we are going back and for from home to rink, without much break between. Between games, I decided to make this recipe and throw it in the crock pot so that it would be ready when we came home and were in need of something to warm our bones. Just a random picture that I like (no it's not my husband that I'm talking about!) Okay, so I'm not one to get easily offended. Mostly I just let things slide (It's taken some work to get to this point). But when I do get offended, it really cuts deep and I have a hard time letting it go. There are only a few things that can bother me, and even then, it's really only comments from the people I care about that affect me. ('Cause let's be real, if I don't know the person, then they don't really know me and there opinion is basically meaningless). But sometimes I find someone really does strike that cord and it's hard for me to let go. I really want to get past this and find a way to not be so hurt by things.
