Glorious and Free

Okay, so it's taken me a while to get around to blogging about Canada Day. We had an AMAZING day. I'm not sure that I have ever enjoyed Canada Day as much as I did this year. It was simply fantastic. First of all, Michael got the day off so he was able to spend the day with us! So in the morning we got the boys up early (Heather was at camp and Natasha is away visiting for most of July), and went into Raymond for the parade. We had a great time with the Familia Perez and the parade was great! Zachary slept through almost the entire thing, David loved running for the candy and sharing it with Skylee, and Peter liked to pretend he didn't care, even though he was dying to go after the candy! It was such a nice activity with my boys. After the parade we went back to the Perez house and had a barbeque and then the guys took the kids swimming while we let the babies nap. When the babies woke up, we went to the pool as well, and found that the boys were pretty well done swimming. We actually had Heather by this time, because her YW leaders drove by us after the parade and dropped her off. So we went swimming for a little while longer, and the kids all came back in the pool while Michael watched the babies for a little while. Eventually we brought the babies into the water too. So cute!

After swimming we all went home to get ready for party in the park. This is Cardston's annual Canada Day party and it was a blast. David loved the bounce houses and the trolley ride, Heather met up with some friends and danced to Michael Jackson's "Thriller". It was hilarious. I have pictures, but unfortunately, I left those and my fireworks pictures in Cardston! GRR. If I think about it when I get home, I'll post those as well. After party in the park, we went home and roasted marshmallows over our fire pit then, covered in bug spray, we went to the fireworks. I have fantastic pictures of the sunset, it was absolutely amazing that night! Michael did a pretty good job at getting pictures of fireworks, even though we were using my mom's camera and he was having some trouble with the settings. It was a wonderful day and I hope that next year will be just as good! I love this land!

This is where I would love to insert pictures of fireworks, but seeing as I don't have them here, I'll put another picture from the morning.
