Hard Days
Today is one of those days that i just feel completely deflated. Like nothing I do makes a difference and none of it matters anyway. What really sucks about that is that yesterday was really a great day, but now all I can think of was all the crappy things. I just feel really unappreciated, and I know that's totally normal with teenagers (they wont get it until they are parents), but it is still discouraging. To top things off, Michael has been frustrated the last couple of days and taking it out on me. So I'm sitting here crying, feeling sorry for myself, and all I can think is "You're choosing to be sad.".
It's true. I have so many wonderful things in my life right now, and because of a few silly comments made by people that were frustrated (and probably looking to push my buttons!) I now feel terrible. So I'm going to list ten great things in my life and really try to focus on those things instead.
1. Heather got her patriarchal blessing yesterday. (Sorry total LDS thing that takes way too long to explain on a blog post!). It was fantastic and the spirit was amazing! It's totally different having the parent's perspective.
2. We are FINALLY renovating our bathroom! We have needed to do this since the day we moved in - really it should have been done ten years before we moved in..and that was five years ago! But we are doing it now. We have our toilet, sink, tub, taps, etc. Yesterday we even bought the linoleum, so it's really happening.
3. Zachary is getting super close to crawling. He rocks back and forth on all fours and is just adorable!
4. I'm making constant progress with my family history (well, Michael's family history) and am finding so much information it's almost overwhelming!
5. Our family made a haunted mansion out of ginger bread for FHE this week. It was super fun.
6. I have LOTS of new scrapbook paper to use for my birthday pictures and Zachary's birth.
7. I got a cute new Halloween shirt when I was in the states.
8. My sore toe is almost completely healed.
9. I'm eating harvest coloured M&Ms. YUM
10. Michael just said he was sorry.
Ok. This day will get better. I need to remember that lots of times the reason that Michael gets upset is because he just wants me around. And it's nice to be wanted as well as needed.
