Almost There
So a few months back, I posted that I was trying to finish projects that I have already started before starting new projects.
I'm still working on it.
But that's better than not working on it...right? Of course right.
So anyway, I've been trying to complete projects, which has actually got me excited to do more projects (of course!) And I've finally decided what I'm doing for my Christmas Stockings. When Michael and I first got married, I made stockings for our family really quick. I used a couple of Michael's old pairs of jeans and added some felt embellishments. They are definitely nothing fancy, but they are what we have used for ten years and they've done the job. Well, I always new they wouldn't be permanent. They were my "until I decide what I REALLY want to do" stockings. So, when David was born, I didn't make him one to match the rest, because that wasn't what I wanted to stick with. The poor kid hasn't had a stocking his whole life.
So this is the year! I've made a decision. I know what I'm doing!!
I'm KNITTING our stockings.
Fantastic, eh? I'm really excited about it. I think it would be even better if I was a more competent knitter...but what better way to improve?
I'm also making a really neat hanger to put them on that I'm quite excited about. I think it will be pretty easy to make, but will look stunning! I can't wait!
So the project that I told myself I HAVE to finish before I can start stockings, is a cute little sweater set that I started for Zachary last fall when I sprained my ankle. I've been taking it to "Make and Mingle" (this fun little community group where mom's work on crafts while kids play and have snack and all the rest, supervised by some great people). I was making slow progress on it that way, but at least I was making progress. Well, this last week I decided it was time to crack down (easier to do when Michael is gone for the weekend) and I've almost got it done!! I'm so excited! It's turning out super cute-photos to come, of course! I'm sure that I'll get it finished today, and then hopefully, I can start on my stockings this week! I know of course that I should be waiting to start on stockings until I have other projects completed as well, but stockings kinda have a time line, so I'm making an exception.
I can't wait to get started!
