Tomato & Beef Penne - 10 min Meals with Thrive

You know how everyone has their go-to meal? You know, the one that you make when you just don't want to think about what to cook. Maybe you've had a long day, or have some extra kids in the house, or you just haven't had a chance to meal prep...
You don't want to eat out (or can't afford to!) and you need something that everyone will eat without complaining. What do you cook? That's your go-to meal. Here's mine.
The best part about this meal is that my 10-year-old now makes it and does a great job. So this go-to just got even better in my house!

I don't know about you, but I was raised on pasta. It's quick, easy and filling. And while I eat healthier for the most part, I do still love pasta-so add a salad or some chopped veggies, and this is a great meal!
We use whatever pasta we have on hand, tonight it was penne noodles. I don't typically measure when I'm making this meal, I just add however much looks right, but for your benefit, I'll give you some measurements. Aren't I kind? ;)

2 cups pasta of choice
1/2 cup Thrive ground beef
1/2 cup Thrive tomato sauce

That's it! Seriously! Well, and water of course!

1. Boil water, about 4 cups is typically what I use, but you want to be sure that the water fully covers your pasta and gives room for boiling. Bring water to a boil before adding pasta.
2. Boil noodles until they reach desired softness, should take about 7 min. Add the ground beef after your pasta has boiled for 4 min and continue to boil. DO NOT DRAIN.
3. When your pasta is cooked stir in your sauce mix. You want to make sure you mix it fairly quickly, or it may clump up. If it does clump up, don't panic, squish the clumps, and add a bit more water if needed. If you find your sauce to soupy, boil a little longer to reduce the water content and infuse the flavour into your pasta.
4. For added deliciousness, you can pour your past into a greased pan, top with shredded cheese and bake for 5 min at 350 until the cheese is melty and delicious. Melty is TOTALLY a word! ;). ENJOY!

This meal is a hit in my family. We love that the Thrive tomato sauce is already spiced, so we don't have to add any spices to it, meaning that we don't risk over spicing our pasta - not that that would EVER happen!
We also like that it's a mild spice, so even the pickiest of eaters that we encounter enjoys it. From time to time I will add some extra garlic or basil because I love those flavours, but it's certainly not necessary.
Hope you love this as much as we do!
