Pictures

So I finally got around to getting my kids' pictures taken. I have a friend that is a photographer and she was super good to work with. We took the kids out to a canola field just north of town and she brought this amazing trunk to pose with and it turned out fabulous! Unfortunately, Heather was still in Kimberly working, so she's not in the shoot, but I got the other four done, now I just need to find a way to get hers done! I will post more pics in the following posts, 'cause I want to do a post on each of them. But here is a sneak peak. I LOVE how they turned out, and I'm totally using Andrea to do my family pics in the fall-even if I have to drive to Edmonton for them!

It's about time I finally got you another meal-in-a-jar. This is a recipe I got from my cousin while we were visiting her for a family reunion. Between the two of us, we have six kids and all six of them ate this and asked for more! That's a huge hit in my book, so I definitely needed the recipe. I made 6 jars so that I have lots for my pantry because I know my kids are going to want to eat this over and over. The one adjustment I made was not adding green chilies, and that's only because I didn't have any, not because I don't want them. Beef Stew Meal-In-A-Jar

My meal in a jar recipe for February is a traditional beef stew, like my mom always made when we were growing up. There are a few adjustments that you can make depending on how you are going to eat prepare and eat this meal, but however you do it, it's going to be classic and delicious!   We are currently in a nasty cold streak with daily highs around -20 Celsius and wind chills that often take our lows to -40 Celsius. In the midst of this cold snap, we had a hockey tournament. Just when you want to curl up with a good book all weekend, we are going back and for from home to rink, without much break between. Between games, I decided to make this recipe and throw it in the crock pot so that it would be ready when we came home and were in need of something to warm our bones. Forgiveness

Just a random picture that I like (no it's not my husband that I'm talking about!) Okay, so I'm not one to get easily offended. Mostly I just let things slide (It's taken some work to get to this point). But when I do get offended, it really cuts deep and I have a hard time letting it go. There are only a few things that can bother me, and even then, it's really only comments from the people I care about that affect me. ('Cause let's be real, if I don't know the person, then they don't really know me and there opinion is basically meaningless). But sometimes I find someone really does strike that cord and it's hard for me to let go. I really want to get past this and find a way to not be so hurt by things.
